In Saluggia (Vercelli), is stored the big part of the Italian nuclear waste. In an area which has been flooded more than once, by the banks of river Po and just above the aquifer which feeds the biggest water main in Piemonte. In case of an accident the water resources of the whole Po valley would be compromised.
