Paolo Rapalino

Biography

He was born in Settimo Torinese. He studied photography in F. Balbis Institute in Torino until 1986, when he achieved the diploma. He studied direction of photography with Giuseppe Lanci and Robbie Muller. He specializes in still photography for theatres and musicals. His works were featured in exhibitions in Russia, Netherlands, France, Italy, and he also published photographic books. In 1990 he created Sollevante, active until 1997 in technical services for theatres. From 1996 to 2004, he worked with the group of French performers ZUR. From 1997 he is a member of Zenit Arti Audiovisive, where he works as director of photography and camera operator, mainly in documentaries. He worked for BBC, Arte, ZDF, Rai3 and with many production companies in Europe and US. In 2014, he co-directed, along with Daniele Gaglianone and Cristina Monti, the documentary "Là suta. Our nuclear legacy in a triangle of water."
