Luciano Attinà

Biography

Luciano Attinà is an independent videomaker. After graduating in Cinema, Television and Production for Multimedia at Bologna's DAMS, he specialised in Audio-video Production Techniques at the APM School of Saluzzo. He was D.O.P. for the documentary Hot water and cold water, editor for RAI's Italiani per scelta, author and editor for Punk@Bo. He wrote and directed various experimental short movies and music videos. In 2016 he started writing articles about political subtext in entertainment cinema for the magazine «Fata Morgana». With the D.I.Y. label cielioscuriAutoproduzioni worked for the Sala Prove Collective, recording some of their gigs at Xm24 Squat. His directing activity aims to create a mithology of individualistic and collective riot through a thought provoking aesthetic of deformity, that willingly departs from technical and linguistic standards of mainstream cinema. His works are video-objects, able to mix comic books imaginary, documentary cinema and cinephile influences. They tell stories and represent fights of those people that, for some reasons, cannot be brought back inside the borders of late capitalism's tyranny of normality.
