Biography

He was born in Ancona on 11/4/1966. He graduated in Cinema History and Critics from University of Torino. Since the early '90s he works with the National Resistance Cinema Archive. He directed short movies and documentaries, like "La Ferita" (1991), awarded at Cinema Giovani festival in Turin. In 2000 he directed his first feature film "I nostri anni", selected for the Quinzaine in Cannes in 2004. "Nemmeno il destino" won the Tiger Award in Rotterdam. "Rata neće biti" (There won't be war) was awarded with the Special Prize of the Jury at Torino Film Festival and with the David di Donatello for the best documentary. In 2013 he presented "La mia classe" at Mostra di Venezia. In 2014 he was awarded with the "Gli Occhiali di Gandhi" prize at Torino Film Festival for his documentary "Qui". He even works with the theatrical group ilBuioFuori (theOutsideDark). In 2014 he works as co-director with Cristina Monti and Paolo Rapalino for the documentary "Là suta. Our nuclear legacy in a triangle of water".
